What is Freedom? is an exciting new initiative, aimed at engaging with South Africans on topics which underpin our constitution — freedom, liberty and equality. Are we truly free? Is apartheid a part of our history, or still part of our daily lives?
To understand where this country is headed, we need to understand the nature of a brighter and more prosperous future. Freedom and liberty must become the ideals towards which South Africa strives. Unfortunately, young South Africans are fed a diet of apolitical education – the key pillars of the Constitution are not tangible, nor are they understood by many young South Africans.
‘What is Freedom?’ is a non-profit and non-partisan initiative which aims to engage with the youth on public policy and current affairs, introducing young people to concepts and ideas which inevitably affect their lives. The initiative will aim to promote persuasive writing skills, by creating a platform for young South Africans to voice their opinions.
